Objective: To explain exactly what happened during a traffic crash and how it relates to the law and could/should it have been avoided. Can we learn something so that it won't happen again? Who is Murray Klatt? Murray is a retired RCMP Sergeant who served for over 30 years with the RCMP in the Province of Saskatchewan. He has been in major traffic collision investigation as a Collision Analyst and Reconstructionist for over 25 years and for over 7 years was in charge of the Collision Analyst Program for the RCMP in Saskatchewan. He has attended in excess of 500 fatal, over 800 injury and over 800 property damage crashes. Murray has instructed On-Scene Collision Investigation to Police Officers, insurance adjusters and Crown Prosecutors. He has also instructed on and co-ordinated an Advanced Collision Analysis (Level III) Course. Murray has been qualified as an Expert in Collision Reconstruction in all levels of Courts in Saskatchewan in excess of 85 times. Murray has made dozens of presentations to various interest groups on traffic safety. He has a genuine concern for the lives of those who ride in or operate vehicles and has an intimate knowledge of the laws as they pretain to the operation of vehicles.
