#1 - "Learning Traffic Safety From a Crash Prospective"
(1 hour presentation)
Series of pictures of actual crashes depicting; a. the consequences of drinking and driving; b. the consequences of excessive speed; c. the consequences of driver fatigue and inattention; and the effective use of your restraints.
#2 - "What is Holding You Back?"
(1 TO 1.5 hour presentation)
Dispelling the myths associated to seatbelts and airbags. Plus new technology in restraint systems.
#3 - "What Every Driver Needs to Know About Traffic Safety" (1 hour presentation)
- Verbal presentation discussing: a. stopping distances; b. driver perception/reaction time; c. problems with passing other vehicles; d. driver distractions and dealing with them; e. Antilock Brakes versus conventional brakes; f. seatblets and airbags; g. consequences of a vehicle in poor mechanical condition; and, h. consequences of improper storage of cargo.
#4 - "Driver Distraction and Inattention"
(1 to 1.5 hour presentation)
A PowerPoint presentationtation discussing: a. categories of distraction/inattention; b. consequences of not paying attention to safe driving practices; and, c. solutions to help overcome these dangerous driving situations.
#5 - "Motor Vehicle Operation and The Law"
(1 to 1.5 hour presentation)
Topics may be specifically requested: a. Saskatchewan Provincial Statutes and the Criminal Code of Canada as they pretain to the operation of vehicles within the Province of Saskatchewan; b. The Highway Traffic Act and the Highways and Trasnprotation Act and their Regulations; c. Farmers and the Law - movement of machinery - licencing of farm vehicles and their drivers - security of loads; d. Commercial Vehicle Operators and the Law - stopping distances; and, e. Drinking, Driving and the Law - Drive Without Impairment.
#6 - "Adjusting Driving Practices for Changing Conditions"
(1 hour presentation and questions)
- Powerpoint presentation discussing:1. driving strategies; 2. judging distances; 3. preparing for changing conditions; 4. preparing for the first snowfall; 5. stopping distances; 6. effect of snow, ice or rain on the road surface and visibility; 7. ABS vs Conventional braking - road conditions and Anti-lock Braking Systems
#7 - "A Practical Application of Grade 12 Math and Physics" (1 - 1.5 hour for the classroom presentation and add .5 hour to include the practical demo)
- a classroom type persentation which includes a discussion of Friction, Kinetic Energy, Issac Newton's Laws of Physics, Conservation of Linear Momentum, The Quadratic Equation, Determination of speed from: slide to stop, critical speed curve, vault and fall, Time and Distance as they apply to collision reconstruction.
- practical demonstration of a test skid and then the calculation of speed using the results of the test skid and the length of a sample skid.
#8 - "The Harsh Reality of Not THINKING!"
(1 hour presentation for Students Grades 6 to 8.)
PowerPoint presentation/discussion of the law and how it pretains to Mischief, Biking, Wlaking,Fighting, Firearms, Motor Vehicles and Seatbelt Abuse and their effect psychologically, financially and down the road. Something may seem like such a good idea at the time but the consequences can be so severe and longlasting!
#9 "WINTER DRIVING STRATEGIES & TACTICS" - 1 hour
Taking a trip during the winter? This presentation will walk you through, Maintenance, Pre-trip planning, Survival Kit, Practice, Strategies & Tactics, Stopping distance on slippery surfaces, Judging distances acurately, Survival tactics.
